Welcome! We’re so happy that you’re interested in learning more about our private pet and equine photography sessions.

We offer a variety of session types: Studio, at home or on location. Want an engagement session with your pups? We do that too.

Our goal is to capture your pet's personality in a fun, creative and artistic way so that you can always have great photos to remember them by and amazing pieces of art to share with friends, family, and coworkers.

We'll have fun during our session! We’ll spend the first part getting to know each other. We'll take play breaks when needed. We'll be silly. We'll probably get dirty if we're outside. We'll explore city streets and jump through streams in the valley.

Session Availability & Booking:

Private sessions are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings and early afternoons.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of animals do you photograph? I photograph them all! Dogs, cats, birds, snakes, turtles, goats, horses, hedgehogs, pigs and more. Just check out my galleries to see some examples. Studio | Lifestyle, At Home, Outdoor

Can I be in some photos? Of course! I love photographing humans and their pets.

When do you offer sessions? Sessions are currently available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings between 830am and 330pm

Do I get to own the portraits from your session? No. Here’s a little info to help clarify any confusion. Personal Usage: ALL PHOTOS YOU RECEIVE FROM Greg Murray PHOTOGRAPHY ARE FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY. NO COMMERCIAL USAGE OR RESALE. NO THIRD PARTY DISTRIBUTION (i.e. no other accounts posting the portrait to social media) OR USE FOR BUSINESS REPRESENTATION OR PROMOTION (i.e. tagging another business, tagging another business with a PROMO code is also considered commercial usage). The photographer, Greg Murray, owns the copyright. If you wish to do any of the above that is prohibited, please contact me about licensing. I'm happy to discuss your options and answer any questions you may have about how to gain business usage. Please no editing or adding filters to the portraits. Thank you for respecting my business.

Can I acquire commercial/business use of a portrait/image? Yes. Please reach out to open that conversation! I’m happy to let you know your options. There are different factors that will determine your licensing rate. Let’s talk!

How many pets can I bring? Up to 2 pets from the same household are welcome. Each extra pet is $100. Please contact us with questions as situations vary. For example, If I’m visiting a farm, I don’t charge extra for more than two animals.

How long do sessions last? A typical studio or outdoor session lasts around 60- 90 minutes. I don’t have a timer and am patient. I leave extra time after session in case they need to go a bit longer. Some sessions last less than 90 minutes if the pet is ready to be done.

What if my pet isn’t trained or doesn’t listen that well? That’s ok! Even the most well trained dogs don’t listen perfectly in the studio or outdoors. I’m patient and understand we are working with animals. Just because you see a great photo on my website doesn’t mean that the dog was perfect. Those are quick moments in time and you can’t see what happened before or after the photos were taken. We won't get stressed because we're there to have fun and capture it. Dogs are dogs and won't listen all of the time and that's perfectly ok. The craziness can often lead to the best photos.

How many edited photos do I get? I don’t guarantee a specific number of final edited photos. It all depends on how your pet does in front of the camera. However, if a pet is doing well and staying in front of the camera for decent periods of time, I typically deliver at least 10 for studio and 30 for outdoor.

Where do your sessions take place? My studio is located at 10225 Berea Rd, Unit B, Cleveland 44102. Check out photos of our space here! I’m on the Westside of Cleveland just a few minutes south of the west end of Edgewater Park.

My dog needs to be leashed outside. Is that ok? I don’t see leashes in many of your outdoor photos. Yes, safety is of the utmost importance to us. I often photoshop out leashes in outdoor photos depending on the situation. Depending on the location, I typically require that dogs be leashed. If your dog often goes to Edgewater dog beach for example and does well off leash, then I am fine with that. If we are in your backyard, leashes aren’t required.

What would be a better for my dog, studio or outdoor? It depends on a couple things. What photos do you like better? Studio or outdoor? You can do both if you’d like. Does your dog get distracted easily? Maybe studio is a better option.

How can I prepare for our time together? Please bring your pet’s favorite treats and toys. Sometimes people will not feed their dogs prior to sessions so that they are more treat/food motivated. Some bring the pet’s actual food to give them as treats during the session. If you’d like to be in photos, feel free to bring a couple different outfits. If you’re not sure what to wear or what colors to bring, we can help!

What Sets Greg Apart

Patience: Greg has experience with all types of dogs (and other animals) at all levels of training. He understands that every pet is different and has his or her own quirks. Do you think that your pet has to be perfect during a shoot? We can't stress enough that this is not the case. 

Experience: Greg has been photographing animals of all types for over 10 years now. This is his full-time job and passion. 

Awards & Recognition: Greg has been recognized locally, nationally and internationally for his work. He has been featured by Today, in People Magazine, Elle, Huffington Post and more. Cleveland area residents have voted him the "Best Pet Photographer" for 5 years straight.

Love of ALL Animals: It's important for Greg to connect with your pet during the session. He’ll have fun during the session, take play breaks and make sure your pet is happy and comfortable.

"Pit Bulls:” If you couldn’t tell, Greg loves all dogs and doesn’t discriminate. In fact, he has a special spot in his heart for misunderstood dogs. Pit Bulls, Rotties, Dobermans, Shepherds, etc...he’ll work with any dog regardless of the way it looks.

No Watermarks: Greg wants you to enjoy and share the digital photos on social media without a watermark taking away from the photo. All he asks is that you tag his Instagram and/or Facebook accounts when sharing with your family and friends.

The Fine Print

PRIVATE GALLERY/PRINT STORE: We make edited photos from our session available through an online gallery proofing website. These proofs are available within the agreed upon time of approximately 3-4 weeks after the session, unless otherwise noted. After the online gallery is delivered, it will be open for 6 months. All prints and products are made by various vendors that cater to professional photographers and use the most sophisticated printing and color correction processes. They are high quality prints and products. We require that our clients print through these services to ensure that products are the best quality. It's our job to ensure that you get the best artwork possible. There are many online printers that offer low printing prices without the quality that you deserve. We encourage you to set up an appointment and visit our studio to see examples after our session.

DOWN PAYMENT/CANCELLATION: All sessions require a $175 down-payment that will go toward the collection total. Need to reschedule because of an emergency or weather? No worries, it happens and we'll reschedule as soon as our schedules permit. Need to reschedule for another reason? We ask for 5 days notice. 

PHOTO PRINTING & QUALITY: All prints and products are made by various vendors that cater to professional photographers and use the most sophisticated printing and color correction processes. They are high-quality prints and products. We do require that our customers print through us to ensure your products are the best. It's our job to ensure that you get the best artwork possible. There are many online printers that offer low printing prices without the quality that you deserve. We encourage you to set up an appointment and visit our studio to see examples after our session.

COPYRIGHT: Greg Murray Photography owns the copyright to all images. All created photographs are protected by the United States copyright laws. It is illegal to print, copy, scan, edit or reproduce photographs or digital images created without the written consent of the photographer. We reserve the right to use photographs from your session for advertising, display, website promotion, photographic contests, publications, or any other purposes chosen by Greg Murray Photography. We retain copyright ownership of all works created in the course of this contract, including but not limited to all images in their original and processed formats. It is understood that any duplication or alteration of original images is strictly prohibited without our written permission. Alterations include, but are not limited to, application of filters or modifications of any kind. Cropping is acceptable for social media purposes, such as Facebook profile photos and square Instagram posts. If any of these actions are performed, we reserve the right to contact you and request the photo(s) be removed as they would no longer be accurate representations of our work.

STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY: Your pet(s) can be famous! We work with companies around the world and provide photos for greeting cards, websites, products and more. Photos of your pet(s) from the session may be added to our stock photography gallery. Photos that have humans in them will not be added to our stock photography gallery unless a release has been signed by the person photographed.

SAFETY: You assume all responsibility for your pets and any other subjects during the shoot, including any and all destruction of personal, business or public property, personal injury or illegalities. Know your pet(s) and their behavior and limitations before bringing them to any public area. Please disclose any behavioral or aggression issues before the shoot. You must include whether your dog(s) has attacked, bitten other animals, people, etc… Greg Murray Photography reserves to right to terminate the shoot(s) and leave the location of the shoot(s) if he experiences inappropriate, threatening, hostile or offensive behavior from person(s) or the PET(S), other people in the area near the shoots(s), or in the event that his safety is in question. Greg Murray Photography is limited by the rules and guidelines of the location(s) and site management of the shoot(s) and you are responsible for fines associated with breaking any laws or ordinances. Greg Murray Photography will offer technical recommendations only.

LEASHES: You must show up to the session with their dog(s) on a leash, even at our studio. There is a dog training facility next door and they are often being trained or walked through the parking lot.

TRAVEL: We travel to locations within 30 minutes of Lakewood at no added cost. Please contact me if you are farther than 30 minutes away from Lakewood, Ohio. We often travel out of state and to other parts of Ohio and the US/Canada. Please contact us directly for travel rates.
